Year-End can feel crazy – you’re pushing the team to get every sale in the door, there are all kinds of benefits and tax planning decisions that need to happen, and it seems like every organization you’re involved in has a holiday gathering that you don’t want to miss.

So “Year End Planning” becomes “Next Year Planning,” and then “Next Quarter Planning” because you ran out of time to get the whole annual plan done. How important is this annual plan anyway? Is it really worth the time and effort?

My perspective is YES. I get how tough it is to schedule an entire working day (or more) to “step back.” I’ve been there; I’m just like you. I know what it’s like to have a calendar that feels out of control. And I’ll share with you the proven roadmap that annual planning gives you.

You would never build a building without a blueprint. You would never take a trip to an unknown destination without a roadmap. You would never play a football game without a gameplan.

Your business is the same – follow a proven roadmap and you’ll succeed. Blow that off because you are “too busy” and you’re setting your team up for a tough road ahead.

Here are some preliminary things to consider as we come into this final month of 2023 (some of these may surprise you!):

  1. What experiences or events have changed your thinking or your outlook?
  2. What accomplishments did you have in your business and your life? What changed? What demonstrates success and progress?
  3. Was there anything on your list (personal or business) that you didn’t accomplish? Why didn’t those things happen? Are they still goals? What needs to change in order for them to happen in 2024?
  4. What are you grateful for?

Business Planning sometimes doesn’t feel like business planning. Business planning starts with you – the Leader. The stronger, more clear, and more focused you are, the stronger, clearer and focused your team will be.

Happy Holidays, invest in this time for yourself and your team, and best wishes for a prosperous new year! Call us if you want the 30-year, global, proven blueprint to make 2024 your best year ever!
